Call for Poster Abstracts: Mid-Atlantic Ocean Forum
Deadline: April 22, 2024
Poster abstracts are now being accepted from high school, undergraduate students, graduate students, and early career professionals for a poster session at the sixth annual Mid-Atlantic Ocean Forum.
The Forum is an excellent opportunity to share your work with ocean leaders including federal, state and local officials, as well as ocean stakeholders from private sector, non-governmental organizations and the public. Additional meeting details will be shared in the coming weeks.
Forum Dates: May 13-14, 2024
Poster session Date: May 13, from 12:45-2:15 p.m.
Forum Location: The Virden Retreat Center, Lewes, Delaware (University of Delaware campus)
Poster authors are encouraged to participate in all Forum sessions. The event is free to attend for presenting authors and members of the public.
TRAVEL COSTS: Funding will be available to poster presenters on a first-come/first-serve basis to assist with travel costs to the Forum. An application will be shared with presenters upon acceptance of abstracts.
Poster abstracts relevant to regional ocean science and policy in the Mid-Atlantic are encouraged. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Ocean data, characterization and mapping
- Ocean habitats and special areas
- Marine debris
- Ocean acidification, or other climate-driven ocean change
- Offshore wind and renewable energy
- Non-consumptive recreational use
- Maritime commerce & navigation, or other sustainable ocean use
- Offshore sand use and management
- Ocean wildlife, fisheries and avian species
- Coastal hazards
- Blue Economy
- Equitable access to information and other diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and accessibility topics
Applications should be submitted HERE and should include the following:
- Descriptive title
- Primary and secondary authors (include organization or institution)
- Abstract (200 words or less)
- Point of contact (email, phone)
Deadline for submission: Monday, April 22, 2024. Decisions will be announced on a rolling basis but before April 25.
