We conducted a survey of 2,294 adults across New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Based on their input, we developed the following recommendations:

BEST INTERVENTION: Put obvious disposal containers right where people fish.

BEST MESSAGING: Bright, simple, positive, direct, wildlife-focused, and multi-lingual.

BEST MESSENGER: Boat captains, bait and tackle shops, and experienced fishers.
