2023 OMDT Work Plan and Progress Report
The OMDT is a group of state, federal, and tribal agencies as well as consultants working to promote and develop data products for the MARCO Ocean Data Portal. The 40-member OMDT meets quarterly and advises the MARCO Management Board on data and tools to be added to the Portal. There is a wide range of ocean data presented on the Portal including (but not limited to): administrative boundaries, marine life distributions, oceanography, and human uses. The Portal has a wide range of users including government agency staffs, NGOs and advocacy organizations, academic researchers, private industries, educators and many others.

The Portal is regularly updated with new and improved data and functions. Examples of recently added features include:
- Socioeconomic data from the Climate Change Vulnerabilities in the Coastal Mid-Atlantic Region
- Sea surface and bottom temperature can be viewed month by month, a feature that was developed in partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Association Coastal Ocean Observing System (MARACOOS)
Other data and function highlights associated with marine habitats include:
- Baleen Whales: Abundance
- All Fish Species: Biomass (Spring)
- Bird Migrant Species: Abundance
- Sea Turtles
